Alternate Configurations
Here are some alternate configurations we have done through time. There
are big shields, small shields, NaI and Ge systems; some have automatic
lids for 4 pi shielding and some don't. The earlier systems have a large
square cover over the Y axis, Z axis, and hand mechanicals. Newer systems
have the smaller cover with the smoked Plexiglass. At least one system
also shows an optional, local color LCD display that shows system status.
Everyone's needs are a little different. The nice part about the Changer
Lab's design is that it can be easily modified to accommodate your special
needs. |

mL LSC
vials) with full 4" shield, auto lid, and extra wall Advantages: -
maximum sample capacity, near 4pi shielding, NaI or Ge detectors on the
end cap or in a well. |

Dual tray "Wide" configuration (200 samples 20 mL LSC
vials) with full 4" shield, and extra wall. This system does NOT have the
automatic lid as it is used for production NAA work that implements the
automatic pull back feature to limit detector dead time. If the sample
activity is sufficient that dead time is a issue the extra shielding
provided by closing the lid is not necessary.
Advantages: - maximum sample capacity, faster cycle time for
load/unload operations |

Single tray configuration (100 samples 20 mL LSC
vials) 6 leg system with full 4" shield, auto lid, and extra wall.
Advantages: - near 4 pi shielding, NaI or Ge
detectors on the end cap or in a well.

Single tray (100 sample 20 mL LSC vial) 4 leg system with
small round shield. This system is NaI but the frame would easily
accommodate
a vertical Germanium dewar with LN2 or mechanical cooling.
Advantages: space, weight, cost. NaI or Ge detectors on the end cap
or in a well. |

Single tray (64 sample 50 mL centrifuge tube) 4 leg system with
square shield and auto-lid. This system is Ge but the frame would easily
accommodate a NaI. |
